Love letters aren’t just for lovers

This Valentine’s Day (or any day!), consider writing a love letter to your favorite hiking trail ⛰️, the almond croissant at your local bakery 🥐, or your mom.

A love letter doesn’t need to read like a Shakespearean sonnet, instead follow this format (or invent your own) for a heartfelt and efficient note to express yourself. 💕

The 5-Minute Love Letter

  • An energetic greeting. Use exclamation points if that’s your thing, or use a nickname that’s just between the two of you.

  • One line about how they improve your life. “You have helped me to see...” “Every day with you is like...” “I can’t imagine life without your...” “Life with you is...” “You make me laugh harder than anyone I know.”

  • A few specific examples or memories together. “I’ll never forget...” “From late night study sessions to lazy Sunday mornings...”

  • A nod to the future. “I can’t wait for...” “I hope you...” or “Sending you...” are all good ways to close.

  • A loving signoff. “I’m so grateful that you’re my friend/dog/favorite bakery.” “Thank you for all you do for me.”

How are you honoring what you love?
